Night Drives
Cinestill 800 T
I’ve always been drawn to images taken at night or in darker environments. The colours jump out more, and the darkness brings a sense of solitariness, a state of mind I won’t deny I enjoy being in. The world feels different at night: quieter, more profound, and at times unsettling.
I’m not someone who’s scared of the dark or unfamiliar places. Some of the best nights of my life have been spent exploring abandoned buildings at 3am with friends or strangers. Shining a flashlight into a derelict hospital entrance that was like a scene from 28 Days Later really makes you stand up and feel alive. It’s the adrenaline, and it’s addictive. At times, I miss it.
So when I decided to shoot a few nights, Cinestill was my first choice. It’s one of my favourite films. The red halation is something I enjoy, and the colour rendering is always so atmospheric. I’d like to shoot more at some point, but I need to find a city or landscape that inspires me in the same way. Nothing has quite hit yet. Plus, I won’t deny it: my enthusiasm for staying up late is much less these days.
These images explore the tone and atmosphere Cinestill manages to capture and the nights spent driving around exploring the city limits.
Thank you and good night!

i like how you use colours in your night shots, nice
The halation on that first shot is too good. And the shot with the cross. Fantastic stuff as always!!
